Wes Craven ha muerto a los 76 años. A través de un breve comunicado, su familia ha informado que el director falleció este domingo en su casa de Los Ángeles debido a un cáncer en el cerebro. La fotografía que encabeza este post ha sido publicada en su cuenta oficial de Twitter tras darse a conocer la triste noticia.

Famoso por su contribución al cine de terror, Craven asustó y continuará asustando a incontables espectadores con sus grandes éxitos, 'Pesadilla en Elm Street' ('Nightmare on Elm Street', 1984) y 'Scream' (1996), si bien cabe señalar que también probó suerte en el drama con 'Música del corazón' ('Music of the Heart', 1999), la película favorita de su madre ("Es la única que vio", aclaraba el realizador).
El Festival de Sitges le entregó su primer premio, por 'Las colinas tienen ojos' ('The Hills Have Eyes', 1977) y si hay un título a reivindicar de su filmografía es sin duda 'La serpiente y el arco iris' ('The Serpent and the Rainbow', 1988).
